Make it Country!
My husband and I recently attended a very different kind of company hosted themed gathering that could easily be adapted to a Country Christmas theme. Simply add some holiday greens and florals and you're there!  Here's a photo composition created with digital snapshots featuring some of the unique decorations and culinary novelties served at the event.  Hopefully you'll be able to incorporate a few of these delightful ideas for your own Country Western Gala events!
  1. Chairs were draped with a satin covering and a red bandana was prominently displayed in lieu of a bow on the back of each chair.
  2. An enormous cardboard cutout was lit up on the dessert station using a simple up-light which made the boot appear even bigger!  Stemware filled with apple pie and strawberry shortcake surrounded the boot along with guest choices of carrot cake, bread pudding and cherry cobbler.
  3. Guest tables had red table coverings with square bandanas serving  as centerpiece placemats. Tall bar tables had black coverings with red bandanas.  Tabletop centerpieces varied  on each table featuring lanterns, small cowboy boots, tin buckets, toy tractors, etc. accented with tealight candles.
  4. A variety of large plastic/cardboard western icons served as perfect wall decorations behind each food/beverage station.  Wagon wheels, cow skulls, cactus, cardboard cutout of a large cow with the "company brand", etc. were some of the many iconic images used.  A railed wood fence wrapped in lights was placed at the entrance to set the scene when each guest walked through the door.
  5. Hor dourves were unusual as well with deep fried dill pickles, jalapeno poppers, steak quesadillas and fried shrimp served buffet style along with a variety of western style sauces and dips.
  6. Cardboard barn with lighted roof and bails of hay for party guest photographs.  A photo booth was also available at the event...and guests took full advantage!
  7. Buffet stations were not overlooked and creatively decorated with menu slates and rustic crates decorated with cowboy hats, fencing, decorative "barbed wire" and other assorted items of interest.  Western style chili, baked potatoes and roast beef were served at a secondary station.  Beverage stations served drinks in handled mason jars and all guests went home with wrapped praline treats to top off the perfect evening!
