MAKE MAGNETS DAY!

This toddler may be only 2 1/2 years old, but it's the perfect age to introduce some basic creative skills that she'll use throughout her lifetime.  Kids are naturally curious about the world around them and love to figure out how things work.  Today we're making our own magnets using a Xyron (Creative Station) and a printed project page from my " Annie Lang's Paper Clip Halloween " activity book. I first let my granddaughter explore the machine and she soon discovered that art needs to go through the machine and not in it!  She also felt the need to wear "glasses" because I wear reading glasses when working on projects.  I removed the lenses from an old pair of reading glasses and she now keeps them in her craft supply caddy.  Keeping in mind that most most toddlers have a 15-20 minute attention span, creative project undertakings should be structured around that time frame.  Making magnets is a perfect way to practice using scissors while creat

Let's Talk "Sticky" As a lifelong artisan and crafter, I've spent hard earned cash on an endless variety of adhesive products for all types of crafting surfaces and projects. Whenever I start a project, I expect the necessary products to perform as advertised by the manufacturer to justify the expense of the supplies used. I have found that few adhesive products used on my many craft projects have actually held up to the test of time over the years.  However, there are several outstanding adhesive products I continue to personally use over and over again for my papercrafts, scrapbooking and cardmaking projects.  Many of you are already using some of the products I'll be discussing today, but for those who are new to the paper arts, you might want to check these out for yourselves. Make a Pretty Card!

W ell, it looks like we're off to a wedding tomorrow so I thought I'd get my "creativity fix" for the day and make a quick and personal card to give to the happy couple!  Here's a super quick tutorial on how to use my  line art pattern books to make something special.  You can find the hummingbird line art pattern I used to create this sample, you'll find it at Annie Things Possible!

Make Some Printable Jar Tags!

Today I created a batch of printable tags for some gift baskets the neighbors will be making up for their "Welcome to the Neighborhood" introductions program.  It's a great way to welcome the new neighbors, dressing up your homemade goodies or for attaching to kitchen novelties and food boxes.  Here's two fun little tags you can use for your own projects for that "made from the heart" look!  Just follow the directions on the page and embellish any way you wish.  To download the page, just right click and choose "Save to Computer".   Enjoy!
