Watch Your Autumn Happen!

Image
Autumn is now upon us as we pack up the pool toys, send the kids back to school, harvest our gardens and get ready to make our Fall homes happen!  Fall themed goods, pumpkin spiced food and drinks and Halloween costumes have been out on the store shelves for the last few months, but most of us prefer to simply make our own homespun season at our own pace.  I've just started my creative to-do list for upcoming home project planning and I thought I'd go ahead and share some seasonally themed publications and how-to draw videos all in one place to inspire your upcoming creative Autumn adventures. Enjoy the season and don't forget to SUBSCRIBE, Like or leave Comments on my YouTube Channel !

The Art of the Bewitching Peddlers 2022

Image
It was certainly a most bewitching and inspiring show this year at the Calhoun County Fairgrounds in Marshall, MI.  Though I'm not a big fan of Halloween, I am totally captivated by the imaginative artistry, creativity and quality craftmanship of the arts.  From one of a kind doll making, meticulously sculptured creations, whimsical fiber arts and ceramics to beautifully rendered mystical artworks, curious candles, glass and jewelry, the Bewitching Peddlers of Halloween show had it all.  I was simply awe-inspired with each booth I visited.  I had previously attended the Ghoultide Gathering show ( see photo at the bottom of this post ) and many of the artists I discovered there were also vendors at this show.  With 40 artists represented, this well attended show was quite busy and many of the treasures were sold out within hours of opening.  Here's just a few of the magical creations that most captured my imagination and I hope you'll visit their online galleries. Enjoy!

MAKE MAGNETS DAY!

Image
This toddler may be only 2 1/2 years old, but it's the perfect age to introduce some basic creative skills that she'll use throughout her lifetime.  Kids are naturally curious about the world around them and love to figure out how things work.  Today we're making our own magnets using a Xyron (Creative Station) and a printed project page from my " Annie Lang's Paper Clip Halloween " activity book. I first let my granddaughter explore the machine and she soon discovered that art needs to go through the machine and not in it!  She also felt the need to wear "glasses" because I wear reading glasses when working on projects.  I removed the lenses from an old pair of reading glasses and she now keeps them in her craft supply caddy.  Keeping in mind that most most toddlers have a 15-20 minute attention span, creative project undertakings should be structured around that time frame.  Making magnets is a perfect way to practice using scissors while creat

STICK TO IT...LITERALLY!

Image
Let's Talk "Sticky" As a lifelong artisan and crafter, I've spent hard earned cash on an endless variety of adhesive products for all types of crafting surfaces and projects. Whenever I start a project, I expect the necessary products to perform as advertised by the manufacturer to justify the expense of the supplies used. I have found that few adhesive products used on my many craft projects have actually held up to the test of time over the years.  However, there are several outstanding adhesive products I continue to personally use over and over again for my papercrafts, scrapbooking and cardmaking projects.  Many of you are already using some of the products I'll be discussing today, but for those who are new to the paper arts, you might want to check these out for yourselves. SPRAY ADHESIVES You simply spray the back of your paper, turn it over and stick it to "whatever". I've used these sprays for years and there are only 2 that I prefe
