There's nothing quite like an Autumn day out with the girls because you just never know what you'll discover until you get there! This year, downtown Howell, Mi was our destination and we took the scenic route to treat ourselves to all the vibrant colors of the season.
Our first stop of the day was Black Iron Coffee Roasters and we were greeted with the aroma of freshly brewed artisan coffee to start the day right. There were plenty of tables to choose from and the coffee was nothing short of amazing and served up with style in hearty mugs! I happened to choose their maple cappuccino which I highly recommend for a chilly autumn morning. You can also purchase their coffee and gifts from their online website.
Unlike cookie cutter chain stores, there's something special about boutiques because they invite store browsers, tend to easily engage in friendly conversation and their staff members seem more than happy to answer questions and make helpful recommendations. If you get the chance, support your local boutiques and don't just go shopping, go boutiquing! Unfortunately, many of the stores were not open on our Monday visit, but here are some of the awesome shoppes that were.
Carriage House Designs is a friendly neighborhood store filled with whimsical curiosities, unique gifts and amazing collectible treasures. We found everything from collectible toys, fun seasonals and lots of gift giving novelties. Check out their online website or visit their Facebook page.
If it's made in Michigan, chances are you'll find it Howell's Heart of Michigan store. Just as the name implies, this store carries all Michigan made products from snacks and treats to apparel, wines, candles, signage and unique gifts. You can also order gift cards, baskets and boxes to be sent direct to your recipient. You can visit them on Facebook or shop their online store.
Down Home Interiors was a surprising boutique discovery that you simply can't miss. At first glance, we assumed we would find only home furnishings when it was actually filled with a unique and eclectic variety of home accents, gifts, jewelry, shoes and more. This store is definitely a boutiquing delight! You can find retail store info on their website or visit any time on their Facebook page
A warm, welcoming and awesome visit awaits! The first thing I noticed when I walked through the door of Simply Charming Too was the large sign near the cashier that says "I Love This Place" ... and I most certainly do! The name says it all and it truly is a simply charming boutique shop. Wonderfully displayed collections of everything from themed country farmhouse, seasonal collectibles, home dec items, unique gifts and clothing will keep you browsing for hours! You can also visit online via their Facebook page.
Before you wrap up your fall outing, you'll definitely want to stop for a late lunch at 2 Fog's Pub.
