Fun ideas to make a Shabby Chic Baby Shower memorable
We have a little Grandbaby on the way!  My sister-in-laws recently threw a fantastic baby shower to welcome little Maryann to the family and I thought I'd share a few of their decorating ideas with you in hopes you'll be inspired when coming up with new ideas for your next hosted gathering.  I  digitally scrapped this collage page of  some of the photos I took of the event and hope to add it to our Granddaughter's scrapbook once she safely arrives.   Decorating in "Shabby Chic" style allows the hostess greater flexibility when it comes to working with a theme. One simply needs to gather up some on-hand materials
gather up on-hand materials and creatively arrange them around the party areas.  The result will be an eclectic mixture of past, present and color that will amaze any party guest.  Here are 5 fun ideas to get your "Shabby Chic" Baby Shower off to a great start...

  • 1  Print out 8.5" x 11" photos of the Parents-to-Be.  Attach them to posterboard or simply tape them together to hang as a banner or attach them to a string with mini clothespins to hang across the tables or wall.
  • 2  Doll toys and silk florals can be used to create small scenes that can be placed on serving tables, condiment counters, entry hall tables, etc.
  • 3  This shower took place in October when white "Cinderella" pumpkins were readily available.  Just grab some ribbons and trim to  tie around the stems, place the pumpkin on a doily or decorative fabric and arrange mini figurines around the base.  The mini porcelain tea set was and ideal accent to create this magical table setting.
  • 4  Antiquities like this baby doll, wicker buggy and handmade mini quilt add a touch of nostalgia without looking out of place.
  • 5 Tissue pom-poms hung from ribbons can be used anywhere inside or out to make the party atmosphere festive and fun.

"Great Grandma" Lang and her longtime friend Lois made this adorable Baby Diaper Cake for the new baby.  It also makes a wonderful centerpiece decoration on the gift table and is always a welcomed gift by any new parent!
